2022 Black Walnut Festival Royalty Conten
This year's Royalty Contest is open to children those residing in Preble County only. The primary role of the royalty selected this year's Festival is to provide public relations during and after the Festival. This year’s Festival will be held on October 15-16. 2022.The Royalty will reign from October of 2022 to the following October when new royalty is crowned. The contest for this year's royalty will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Preble Shawnee High School Auditorium. Time(s) to be determined. The deadline to enter is September 2, 2022 (to allow time for prizes and awards to be obtained)
CATEGORIES
Mr. and Miss Little Ambassador
The 2022 Black Walnut Festival Little Ambassadors will be judged on personality (25 pts) and stage presence (25 pts). Little Ambassadors are ages 2 yrs to 4 yrs (age day of contest). One Mister and one Miss Ambassador will be chosen. Attire is Sunday best or any dressy outfit. A parent or guardian must accompany the contestant on stage. The Little Mister Ambassador will receive a Sash and $50 cash prize. The Little Miss Ambassador will receive a crown, sash, and $50 cash.

The 2022 Black Walnut Festival Prince and Princess will be judged on personality (20 pts), on- stage interview (10 pts), and stage presence (20 points). Age appropriate questions will be asked. The Prince and Princess are ages 5 yrs to 6 yrs (age day of contest). Attire is Sunday best or any dressy outfit. The Prince will receive a sash and $50 cash. The Princess will receive a crown, sash, and $50 cash.
Duke and Duchess
The 2022 Black Walnut Festival Duke and Duchess will be judged on personality (20 pts), on- stage interview (10 pts), and stage presence (20 points). Age appropriate questions will be asked. The Duke and Duchess are ages 7 yrs to 9 yrs (age day of contest). Attire is Sunday best or any dressy outfit. The Duke will receive a sash and $50 cash. The Duchess will receive a crown, sash, and $50 cash.
Queen and King
The 2022 Black Walnut Festival Queen and King will be judged on 30 second introduction (20 pts), on-stage interview (10 pts), personality (10 pts), and stage presence (10 pts). The introduction should include the contestant’s name, age, something unique about them and why they want to be the Black Walnut Festival Royalty. Please stick to 30 seconds maximum. Interview will include age-appropriate questions.
The Queen and King are ages 10 yrs to 13 yrs. Attire is Sunday best or any dressy outfit. Formal attire is not required. The King will receive a crown, sash, and $100 cash. The Queen will receive a crown, sash, and $100 cash.

The cost to enter the contest is $10 per child for the main contest and $10 additional to enter the Side Awards (optional). The entry fee(s) can be paid via Venmo to BWFRoyalty or mailed to Black Walnut Festival Royalty Contest, Candi Fyffe-Turpin, 714 Brande Drive, Eaton, Ohio 45320 by the entry deadline of September 2, 2022. Check or Money Order should be made payable to the Black Walnut Festival.
